The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: The excitement of Racing on Yas Island ...

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, one of the Formula 1(TM) racing events, was basically introduced in 2007 in line with the F1 Festival held in the UAE. The first-ever race occurred in Yas Marina Circuit on November 2009. The Yas Marina Circuit is probably the sophisticated race circuits in the world regarding technology and works as a training ground for motorsports in the Middle East. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull Racing) won the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Yas Marina Circuit

The Yas Marina Circuit offers a wonderful experience for drivers and visitors alike. The whole Formula 1(TM) race track is 3.4 miles (5.55 km) long that has a total of 21 turns, 12 of which are left turns and 9 are right turns. Running in an anti-clockwise direction, the Formula 1 race track has a calculated lap time of 1 min and 40 second. The second and third track configurations are shorter with the 2nd one at 1.9 miles (3.15 kilometers) plus the 3rd one at 1.46 miles (2.36 kilometers). The tracks operate without interfering with each other making it possible to hold two events at the same time at the Yas Marina Circuit.

The 2010 and 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Following the good results of the 2009 Grand Prix, the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix occurred on November 12-14 at the Yas Marina Circuit. Sebastian Vettel achieved his 2nd victory on the track and later on secured the title World Champion at the same time. The 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix happened on November 13 with Lewis Hamilton in winning the third season.

Yas Viceroy Hotel

This Yas hotel is made over the Formula 1(TM) race track. Composed of two 12-storey towers, the 5-star Yas Island hotel provides first class service and facilities.
